Growth rate: moderate (1-2 ft/yr)

Mature size: 15-20 ft. height, 10-15 ft. spread

Landscape use: edible landscape; sustains wildlife; can form a grove of clones

Fruit: largest fruit native to North America; ripens in late September; source of Vitamins A and C; used to make breads, brandy, and or eaten straight from the tree

Flower: maroon-ish; requires cross-pollination but only with another individual (i.e. not a clone)

Fall color: yellow/brown

Seasonal interest: fruit in September; interesting long leaves

Sustaining wildlife: host of Zebra Swallowtail and Paw Paw Sphinx Moth; provides food for wildlife
